Project Title:  Therapeutic modulations of flagellin responses in inflammatory bowel disease
Period of Award:  January 1, 2004 - June 30, 2006

Specific Aims

   1.    To attempt to define the optimal dose of flagellin and number of immunizations necessary to achieve maximal protection in the Helicobacter-induced MDR1a knockout mouse model.
   2.     To attempt to define the optimal portion of the flagellin molecule to be used for therapeutic purposes.
   3.    To attempt to define an appropriate adjuvant for human clinical use.
   4.    To attempt to determine the safety of giving flagellin plus adjuvant once colitis is already established.
